Is there some sort of device out there than can pinpoint the exact location of a possible cell phone?

i think the government has that device.. but its not open for the public to use..

There are two ways to locate a certain cell phone, and neither of those is exact enough to find out what room of your house the cell phone is hiding in:

1. Cell phones log in to stations and are registered in a central dataset. So that the phone company knows where to send the signal if someone, somewhere calls your number. That way, they can, for example, track the phone of a missing person or the phone of a criminal person. And thus know where to look for them.
2. Some of the newer smart phones have GPS and the phone company or an internet service can then track their location by satellite navigation.

If your cell phone has been on and ringing for months, honestly, I’d check all the hidden-behind-the-furniture power plugs. Maybe you plugged it in there with the loading cable, because none of the visible power plugs was free. And then forgot. And now it’s behind some piece of furniture and the ringing sounds dampened… Call your phone number and go searching for the ringgg.
