Does anyone think the song "Judas" by Lady Gaga is bad if you're Christian?

Answer #1

Why would any song be bad? I mean, singing a song that is against you faith in front of other people might be a problem, but listening to it? I don’t think so.

It’s important what you do in life and how you treat other people and what influence you have on them. Listening to a song won’t make you bad. Reading things that are against your faith won’t make you evil either. You can read Hitlers book ans still be a good person, as long as you don’t agree to his insanity.

Answer #2

True…thank u

Answer #3

I would say that any of her music/music videos are bad for Christians because there is nothing Christians would consider Godly it it, it is all rebellious… she dresses half naked in I think most and in Judas she say “I’m standing next to Judas”…. if you are Christian that is not a good thing for you to say… words have meaning.. if you believe in everything in the Bible and call yourself Christian then you should never say such a thing….. I do. YES. (:

Answer #4

Your totally right…I agree 100% well I do luv her music but i dont rely follow or embrass it

Answer #5

idk but you just got this song in my head now -_-

Answer #6

I understand.. (: Just make sure you never start feeling like any of it is truth atleast.. Good luck. :D

Answer #7

Every music video has a Christian message behind them or symbolism. So I don’t think so not really :/ It’s just telling a story just like all her other ones

Answer #8

haha yeh i don’t “luv judas”…im god 100% of the way <3 ;) thanks!

Answer #9

sryy ;(

Answer #10

How could you say that? OMG How about a message to trick you behind every one? OMG

Answer #11

How do they trick you? she’s telling you her life through symbolism in the music films like

Answer #12

When you listen to something many times it decives you… You may start to not be focusing on God the way He wants you too.. Tell me this.. Would God want you to be listening to that over and over again? Will that bring you closer to Him? :D I really think it will pull you away…):

Answer #13

I love her.

Answer #14

Yes, in this case, it definitely is. Who wrote the song doesn’t necessarily make it bad, but since Lady Gaga, her videos and her music are so unchristian most of the time, I would never spend money on her. Similarly, I like Marilyn Manson’s cover of “Sweet Dreams” by Eurythmics but I would never pay for it because of who and what Marilyn Manson is.

I suppose this is more of an answer to the first answer than to the question, but I think it still answers the question alright.

Answer #15

No… she doesn’t say loving Judas is a good thing. She clearly states he is a demon and she is a fool for loving him. I think you should listen to Gaga if you are Christian because she preaches the acceptance of others and loving who you are. Nothing wrong with her music :)

Answer #16

So, you don’t support anyone who is openly non-christian? What about people of different faiths?

Answer #17

Lily, you don’t know god. Stop speaking for Him.

Answer #18

Lady gaga’s music teaches love and acceptance of others… her music is really empowering. How is she unchristian? You obviously don’t understand her message at all.

Answer #19

I think her music is bad period….Christian or not. Her lyrics are shoddy, and her vocals leave much to be desired. That’s just my opinion though.

Answer #20

Non-Christian and unchristian are two different things. Unchristian means things that a Christian can’t support.

Answer #21

Okay well what do you think? It is completely logical…. I would even call it common sense…… ? I am just saying it will influence you to go against what GOD put in HIS book. (: All I know about God is what the Bible says about Him….

Answer #22

Yes she does but would you want to put that in your head that you know what is right and you are purposely doing wrong? o.0 Makes no sense to me… ?

Answer #23

well… some christians may say its just a song. but i dont think its that bad… there are many judas on earth this days right?

Answer #24

I think Lady Gaga’s main goal was to shock and she achieved that. As a Christian myself, I felt she crossed the line. Isn’t she a Roman Catholic? To be honest, Lady Gaga is a copycat, Madonna did the Jesus Christ thing during her concerts and one of her songs and Lady Gaga is copying the same act. Bias side, I cannot stand Lady Gaga and hope she vanish and never to be seen again, she is repulsive to look at and makes me sick just seeing her on TV and on magazines.

Answer #25

Very true :)

Answer #26

why would it influence a follower of god? if they believe in him then it wouldnt pull them away. It is just a song not some music thats trying to make you not believe in him.

Answer #27

Fine. Do what you want. I will believe what I believe and you believe what you believe… (: I will live with it…(: :D

Answer #28

And how do you know the bible is true? It was written by man, not god. You are foolish

Answer #29

You make no sense to me lol

Answer #30

Okay.. Back at you. :D

Answer #31

OMG. Now you are saying that what Christians build their whole life on is just lies, stuff writen by some guy.. :O This is asking what CHRISTIANS think is wrong… If you do not use what is in the Bible on this question then it’s just about what you think not what CHRISTIANS think and this is not about you.. Understand yet? :D

Answer #32

While the bible never directly says that you can’t listen to music with objectionable lyrics, 1. if you look at a woman with lust, you have committed adultery in your heart, and if you hate your brother, you have committed murder in your heart. So I think that you should not entertain yourself with that kind of thing. 2. the power of words, which includes words in a song, is a very strong theme in the Bible. 3. we abstain from the very appearance of evil. 4. the Bible says not to surround yourself with bad people (horribly paraphrased, I know) because they can corrupt you. Why should the same not apply to what you do for entertainment?

With all these things in mind, I must say you are wrong.

Answer #33

Well,it’s bad only if you take a song on your head and point out on the lyrics, there is no need to make a great deal out of it.Now it’s a person’s mentality to choose weather the glass is half full or half empty.Same way if a person lives to point out what’s bad about something then definitely this is a golden oppertunity for him/her and if you listen a song to entertain yourself then it’s just the song. The song will make a great party song, unless you curse it on what the lyrics actually mean and what does the core mentality which made the song reflects!

For me it’s just a song,I don’t make a great deal out of it.The song was made for entertainment purposes and i don’t think we should relate it to our lives.

Note:The update above is my personal opinion,It was not intended to offend anyone.

Answer #34

One day there will be no religion all hail the flying spaghetti monster!

Answer #35

i think that yes it is very contraversial yes especially the decsion to release it at easter, is bad for a christian?? no because you always have the option ot not listen to it if you don’t want to.

Answer #36

Oh yeah.. What does this have to do with the question? :DD lol

Answer #37

Are you saying it’s not bad to listen to if you’re a Christian because you have the option to mot listen to it? Okay, I’ll go kill somebody and tell the judge that it was okay because I had the option not to do it.

Answer #38

Ohhh sorry that women are sexual beings too. Because its COMPLETELY okay for guys to be horndogs and girls just have to be perfect little homemakers with no feelings but happiness. Real cool, buddy.

Answer #39

Speak correct english and maybe people understand what you are trying to say thaaanks.

Answer #40

What was wrong with me English?? o.0

Answer #41

I think it’s offensive. She is calling herself Mary, the virgin who carries Jesus and birthed him a virgin. In no way is Lady Gaga like Mary. Mary represents pureness and the catholic church lifts her up for that. You wouldn’t want to be walking with Judas. Judas betrayed Jesus for some pitty cash and in the end gave it back and killed himself regretting what he had done. I had this discussion in my religion class. I don’t like the song. I did it offensive and demeaning towered Christians. I’m sure you can tell I am one and completely believe in God. She has no right to say things that are true and compare herself to Mary. Wrong wrong wrong. That’s just my input =)

Answer #42

I kinda liked her at first, but she soon started to make me sick. Her third video that came out when she had the crosses on her outfit, I thought why? Why does she do that? Blasphemy? I agree it’s shock value. I am a Christian. Not because I was born or raised to be, nor did anyone tell me I had to be. I found the Lord on my own through many trials, toils and snares and years of living. I don’t make fun of or put down other people for their particular faith, belief, lack of ect. We respect others. Gaga is a disrespectful, nasty piece of crap because she purposely tries to offend and not smart enough to understand she doesen’t have to do that to sell her music. I didn’t criticize her til she started this. Your right she’s ugly especially without make up and millions have a good singing voice, she’s really not special, just a promotional side show.

Answer #43

Dude im a christian and all im saying is that if it offens you don’t listen to it

Answer #44

*offends

Answer #45

What are you talking about? When did he say that? 0.o

Answer #46

@lily i think emmybear316 meant that was his general gist which i can i kind of see her point but check out what this guy said to me

Answer #47

I think he was just trying to make a point with you… Honestly if you read my answer I think it is against what Christian SHOULD watch and everything cause of what the Bible says aboout things like this… :D

Answer #48

Well, I reread my post and and still have no idea what gave you the idea that I was saying that. In fact, I said that man with a girlfriend or wife shouldn’t look at another woman with lust for her.

Can you please explain where you’re getting this?

Answer #49

Yes please do I am also confused with your reply… ):

Answer #50

Ahahahaha!! I ment “MY” lol! :DD Well if THAT confused you I would understand but before I was right on! :DD Hmm…. Maybe I needed punctuation…

Answer #51

yes, I am not super religious but I do love god and go by his word, and her videos, songs, lyrics and they way she is itself is offensive. Her words have hidden meanings, they are linked to the bible. Almost as if she read the bible and is now writing lyrics to offend it. Her videos show signs or satanism, Santeria, and illuminate. She is deff going straight to hell.

I am Catholic BTW.

Answer #52

I agree with you mostly, except for the last part. It is not a human’s place to say that someone’s going to Hell for one thing, and while I’m not entirely convinced that it’s never too late to have a change of heart, I know from experience/history that it’s not too late for Lady Gaga to.

Answer #53

I thought about saying the same thing dude. lol ;DD
