Somethings wrong with my dog. Please help

I have a little 8-10 lb yorkshire terrior. She’s dry heaving a lot. Its almost like she’s got something in her throat and she’s trying to get it out. I’ve checked her throat and there’s nothing there (that I can see). It kind of sounds like a cat trying to cough up a hairball. other than that she’s just fine though. She’s eating and drinking normally. I dont have enough money for a big vet bill right now, but she’s really starting to worry me. what could be wrong with her? Thank you

My dog did that for two weeks and then stopped. He is absolutely fine. Maybe it’s a common Yorkie thing, all the other Yorkies I know have had that too. Everyone said it’s probably kennel cough. Don’t worry. It’s not, she’s fine. :)

you should really look at that link. it’s a short article on dry-heaving causes and symptoms in dogs. I don’t know much about illnesses and stuff in dogs, although I adore them !! but..I was gonna type in some stuff in that article, but I’m not gonna take credit from another source. hope I could help !! [I try to advise on as many problems as possible, even if I have to web-surf :) ]

could be kennel cough, But my question to you would be, if you love her and she is part of the family, why would you not take her to the vet if you know she is not acting right???

Answer #4

if I were you I would go around town and ask people to make a donation for a vet.yea it may seem like a desperate thing to do but I would do it if I wanted my dog to be better.also I would let her get a lot of rest.plus a lot of water to help it go away.hope my advise helped.I wish you and your dog the best of luck!!!

Answer #5

She may have eaten something poisonous or gotten a sharp object stuck in her throat.

Your best bet for your yorkie’s welfare is to visit the vet.

Answer #6

Yorkies are (obviously) very sensitive, it sounds like something sharp is stuck in her throat. Get her to the vet.
