Some help analyzing a poem?

so I just read this poem “To Helen” by edgar allan poe. for some reason I’m not having the easiest time interpreting its meaning…does anyone know anything about this poem?

I get that there’s sort of an admirable tone and that he sees she is beautiful but I need to know more.

any help would be great!

I just read it, so I think that he really loves everything about ‘helen’ … helens love is precious to him.. at the time greece and rome were classed as ‘grand’ like his love is towards her. he talks about a light from her hand and a window, he is relating her to be from a holy place… like an angel.the poem is not directed at someone called helen but in fact to ‘helen of troy’. He greatly admirers her beauty, speaking of her flowing hair and classic face

one of his other poems from another source suggests that he was writing about Sarah Helen Whitman whom he was courting and was engaged to for a short time after the death of his wife, but this is completly off this particular poem.

well I hope this gave you a greater knowledge of the poem.

good luck. from naomi.
