So. Whose an Athiest who enjoys the holidays?

What non-religious or joyously blasphemous yuletide stuff do you like to do?

I make anti-christmas cards for alll my friends, you know, to piss them off :)

Answer #1

I agree with the people who say they still celebrate, only with a different meaning.

Answer #2

If Christians can celebrate Halloween, then atheists can celebrate Christmas and even Easter (plus Halloween of course). Any excuse to have fun, is a good excuse.

Answer #3

You seem to want too much attention …leave your friends opinions as they are their opinions.

Answer #4

“I am Convinced the other .1% difference in the human’s Genome is what separates some of US as to a true Genius and everyone else in between who does not understand the existence of God…”

Huh? Are you saying it takes a genius to understand the existance of god?

Answer #5

I am Convinced the other .1% difference in the human’s Genome is what separates some of US as to a true Genius and everyone else in between who does not understand the existence of God…

Answer #6

Well… since Xmas in the U.S. is a commercial holiday FIRST, a Pagan holiday SECOND, and all other religious stuff THIRD. I’m pretty sure commercialism accepts people of ALL beliefs…

Answer #7

lol if you want to pss people off, just explain to christians origonal orgins of the holidays that they celebrate(every one being stol from pagans) & such. You want to talk about pssed, & funny too.

Answer #8

I’m Buddhist, but the rest of my family is either Pagan or Christian, so we celebrate all the different holidays together as a family.

Answer #9

Well I think to just enjoy a day off is nice how many times do you really get a dayoff. Well I like to drink genuies and party

Answer #10

At christmas I try and look at as a celebration of a man (just a man) who started a movement that was based on peace, love, and brotherhood. I try to ignore the way that message has been coopted by various tyrants and maniacs over the last 2000 years, and is still being used to condemn non-believers as evil.

Christmas has thankfully become a much more a secular holiday today.

Answer #11

I’m an atheist, and I still celebrate Christmas with my family. I dont see it as a religious holiday in our household, it’s more of a time for families. We still enjoy santa clause, presents, christmas lights, christmas cards, candycanes, decoration, etc.

You can be atheist and still celebrate. You just have a different meaning behind it.

Answer #12

around this time of year, I say X-Mas. same thing, except shorter. I’ve been an atheist for a while now, ditching the other belief after a series of tragic events. anyway, what I do is: get all my friends together (they’re atheists too) and we have a HUGE celebreation at my place. we still have the tradition of gift-giving, but we also have karaoke, a poker tournament, and other stuff. it’s a lot mmore fun than the usual boring celebration.

Answer #13

They do seem to just randomly wander in here, don’t they?

Answer #14

yeah, and they really hate it when you mention that all that glittery greenery decorating their homes isn’t so Christian!
