How can I get my Mom to let me date?

Your mom probably has her “reasons”…but I’m 16 and my parents don’t let me date.. It sucks big time. parents will bring you down and spoil your fun and won’t let you live YOUR life, But lets face it they do it because they love us. Now,l the reson why your mom won’t let you date is eather becuse she dosn’t trust you or she dosn’t trust the enviorment your in. parents never give us enough credit. So sometimes we have to take maters into our own hands. I have already had 2 boyfriends, of course behind my mom and dad’s backs. but when you do that you have to be careful numer 1 you have to make good choises I really wanted a boyfriend too but you can’t be inpaitient and just go with the first one you meet. make a good choice. and be carfull, and if you want to have him over your house just tell your mom he’s gay or something (LOL). Your mom also might get worried because of the stuff that is on the news these days about our generation. So be carful with that also if you know what I mean. Anyway.. Good luck to ya! Also try reverse phycology with your mom but wait a little bit befor you do. Instead of being like “mom it’s like so unfair” tell her you understan and the quit nagging for a little bit. The see what hapens. That is what I’m doing right now so I cant really tell you if it works or not..

if your mom won’t let you date obviously you are too young!!! boys today don’t even have brains today most boys. if your mom says your too young to date,if you sneak around you are gonna get caught one way r another,you might get pregnant something you don’t want at that age,you might get raped,hurt,kidnapped, just be smart honey,boys these days only want one thing and that’s to take your innocence which means your virginity if you are a virgin. they want to have sex with you and leave you,put u as another slut on there slut list,talk about how you were in bed to his friends and your gonna wonder why all the guys want you not because your pretty just because they want the same thing you gave him. so be careful and listen to your mom because she’s trying to protect you and she knows what she’s doing, some young girls your age don’t even have a mother to care for them enough to teach them right from wrong. please pay attention,and listen,ccause if you don’t listen to your mom, something bad is gonna happen to you the whole time you don’t listen,i experienced that. every time i didn’t listen to my mom something bad happened all the time and who was there to save me? I wasn’t aloud to have a boyfriend till I was 16 and there were no exceptions- so just talk to the guy you think you want as a boyfriend and get to know him before you jump into a relationship. My boyfriend and I talked for about a year to get to know each other before we decided to even start dateing and we have been together as boyfriend and girlfriend for 2 1/2 years. So take time- it will happen soon enough- have fun while your single.

haha yea its me again….um thanx for ur advice….but its not like i want a boyfriend just to day that i have one…and i dont want to date rly just have someone who thinks im special….i will probably have a “boyfriend” in highschool but just someone who i can hang out with and have fun with not get pregnant with and date really seriously and stuff….

you dont need a boyfriend until you are 15/16. and it sounds like you want a boyfriend just to be able to say ‘i have a boyfriend’ and for the attention. if you were mature enough, you could wait until you were 15/16.

i didnt mean it that way…i just want the choice and freedom to do so…..i am not saying that i am gonna go out and pick out a random boy and make him my boyfriend just so i have one…..believe me its not like i am gonna go have sex now when i am 14 like other people on this site.

Some of us weren’t allowed to have boyfriends PERIOD. Just be quiet and abide by your poor mother’s wishes another year. Having a boyfriend–you’ll have them all through life.

me and my mates dated a lot at your age. We didn’t ask. We went on double dates, group dates and on occassion had a bf we didn’t date so much as we hung out with. The best relationships are built on the same principles as a good friendship. We were happier with a lot of guy friends, our group was 50-50 genderwise. Exclusive relationships are better for later in life. You’ll grow and mature a lot over the next few years, whatever guy you’re with now won’t fit what you want by the time your mum supports you dating. It’d better to look for strong friendships to grow into a strong relationship when your older. By that time you’ll know the person inside out and be completely sure if that’s what you want. Stats show the younger a couple forms the less likely it is to last. So wait and hold out or that lasting perfect relationship.

This would probably work for anybody. Be respectful about the process. Take your boyfriend/girlfriend to meet your parents. If they don’t like him respect there wishes and don’t go out.

if you want a boyfriend make sure you know him and you really dont im 15 and my mom wont until im 16 than I dident tell her that I had one I think its dumb just stay friends dont be in a hurry to grow up its not worth it and all teenage boy’s want is one thing so just wait its really no different than being friends

JUST TELL UR PARENTS HOW YOU FEEL THEY SHOULD UNDERSTAND IF U ACT LIKE AN ADULT AND TALK TO THEM THEY MIGHT TREAT YOU LIKE AN ADULT AND GIVE YOU SOME LEED WAY

Girls [or guys] don’t want boyfriends until they actually like somebody, it just sounds like you want a boyfriend just for to be able to say “I’m not single” So, be patient, not having a boyfriend won’t kill you.
