Silicone Gauges.
My current gauge size is 4 and I want to go to 2. I wanted to do it with silicone gauges, but I heard it hurts. Does it?
No actually it doesnt. It wont hurt as long as theyre the same size as what your ear is stretched to. I wouldnt suggest gong from4 (stretcher size) to 2 (silicone size) because you wont be able to get it in, so use tapers and then put the silicones in
um the person about me doesnt know what they are talking about. YOU NEVER EVER EVER EVER stretch with silicone. thats a big no. stretch with stainless steal or glass plugs. (dont use tapers) if you have any other stretching questions funmail me so you dont f*ck up your ears listening to people who dont know what they are talking about.
I stretched my ears about three times with silicone. I’m at 7/8’’ and I don’t really have any problems. With glass or steel plugs you are more likely to get blow outs. The pain thing really varies from person to person. With silicone mine swell more, but they don’t really hurt as bad as they did when I used steel.
Id stop stretching with it then (chianne) They are not made to stretch with. Using silicone puts you a greater risk of swelling, ripping, and necrosis. The problem with trying to use silicone to stretch is silicone is very tacky so when you try to use it to stretch it pulls the skin very tight but doesn’t allow it to slide over the jewelry at all. It cause micro tears in the lobes that is then pulled even more to create small ulcers. And if left unchecked the tackiness of the jewelry can trap a lot fluids and eventfully causing necrosis which basically means your ear rots in half. I have seen it happen before. And just because you’ve done it before and dont have a problem, doesnt mean it cant or wont happen. I wouldnt risk it.
and thats not true that stretching with steel or glass makes for a higher risk of a blow out. those are plugs that are MADE to stretch with.
