How does a silencer work on a gun?

Answer #1

My answer may (most likely) won’t be correct. If a silencer is on a gun it’s gonna make you a silent killer. So say you were to go out hunting. You shoot, there’s no noise, so you don’t spook the animals and they don’t know what’s coming. Verses having a gun with no silencer the noise of the gun being fired would echo through the woods and spook off any close and far targets.

Answer #4

A gun silencer the rapidly expanding gas makes when a gun is fired A silencer screws on to the end of the barrel and has a huge volume compared to the barrel (20 or 30 times greater). This allows the Pressure behind the bullet to have a larger space to expand into. So the pressure of falls significantly. Therefore, the sound of the gun firing is much softer.

Answer #5

I think it would still spook animals. I’ve heard silenced guns, you can still hear them, it’s just muffled. But it certainly wouldn’t go as far.
