Why can't I sign up for LiveProfile?

I’ve put in my e-mail address and password like it asked me to. But every time I press join it says there is an error in creating my account. I have an iPod Touch if that helps? But I don’t really think that’s the problem, seeing as most of my friends are using LiveProfile from their iPods. Help, please?/
