Shouldn't Bush finally acknowledge his grandfather's actions?

George Bush’s grandfather, the late US senator Prescott Bush, was a director and shareholder of companies that profited from their involvement with the financial backers of Nazi Germany. His business dealings, which continued until his company’s assets were seized in 1942 under the Trading with the Enemy Act, has led more than 60 years later to a civil action for damages being brought in Germany against the Bush family by two former slave laborers at Auschwitz and to a hum of pre-election controversy. The evidence has also prompted one former US Nazi war crimes prosecutor to argue that the late senator’s action should have been grounds for prosecution for giving aid and comfort to the enemy.

After years of trying to keep this skeleton in the closet, don’t you think the Bush family should finally acknowledge this?

Answer #1

“And, I certainly don’t want to bring up the past.”

As long as it’s Bush’s past, right? Looking at your other posts, Obama’s past is fair game.

Answer #2

Skeleton in the closet? I’ve known about Prescott Bush’s war profiteering, NAZI sympathies, interest in eugenics for years. Prescott Bush helped start Planned Parenthood because of his fear that undesirables (colored people and poor whites) were reproducing too quickly and would dilute the good gene pool (people like himelf). Henry Ford was also quite the anti-semite and of course Joe Kennedy made the the early Kennedy fortune selling prohibition alcohol, insider stock trading, and real-estate speculation.

To me this is all interesting but I have little interest in various family’s unsavory past. I’m more interested in the present.

Answer #3

Why should they? It was not them. If your grandfather killed someone would you use it as a pick up line?

“Hi I’m Amoeba, my grandfather killed people, want to get a bite to eat?”

Peoples familys have a right to privacy, what will them acknowledging change?

Answer #4

Well, to be honest with you, I think that you shouldn’t hit on the Bush family and, I know that allot of liberals do this sort of thing. I didn’t know the Bush’s grandfather was part of that. If I were you, I’d stay out of his personal life. Yah, maybe this should’ve been brought up, but, we shouldn’t bring up the past. I happen to like President Bush even though I have a few disagreements but, I respect him and so forth. I also didn’t know that his grandfather was a senator. And, I certainly don’t want to bring up the past. Don’t you worry, he’ll be out of the White House soon. You’ll probably be allot happier with either Hillary, Obomma, or MCaine.

Answer #5

I think the company you are referring to is Brown Brothers Harriman. Eustace Mullins has researched the interconnections with this oldest operating bank of the U.S. with many financiers on either side of the aisle going back beyond the Axis and Allies even beyond the Bolsheviks. Very interesting read. THE SECRETS OF THE FEDERAL RESERVE. War is a for profit endeavor. While you are there…take advantage…learn why gas is proud of $4.00 per gallon

Answer #6

I knew about henry ford. there was an uproar regarding schlindler’s list being sponsored by ford motor company…literally…

I agree with the “family’s past” statement. I do think that bush’s recent statement regarding obama’s willingness to talk to “terrorists” deserves another look considering his own history…

Answer #7

yes, it appears to be a large portion of their earlier wealth.

Answer #8

If this is the reason for his family’s wealth & power…then, yes, they should acknowledge this. It’s shameful and people have a right to know.
