You can sue if you want, but theft is a criminal act. You might be better served calling the cops.

Answer #3

Never keep your social security card in your wallett. You should have a safe place for it at home and only take it with you when needed. Memorize your number. Most times you only need the number and do not need to show the card. Go to SSA.GOV to report it missing/get a new card.

When someone steals from you you should always call the police. If you did go to court you would need a copy of the police report. Also, if the person is under 18 years old and you want to sue for damages then you actually have to sue the parents since they are a minor. Sueing for damages is very different then a criminal case. You have to pay the court a filing fee and if you win you would have to spend even more money to get your money back.

I suggest you take the high road, cover your butt, and move on.

Answer #4

so what did you recover back and what didn’t you? and how long ago did it happened?

Answer #5

have you got your items back? If not unless you could face reprisals do sue. If you have got it back, tell her you know it was her, and unless she is a psychopathic thief do nothing

Answer #6

im affraid knowing who took is not enough for a court…

‘I know she took it’ is hearsay evidence and will be cucked out of court faster than a kangaroo could bounce out…

infact I’ve just checked and hearsay in a USA court is not allowed so it will not even reach court..

so you cannot sue her for anything.

Answer #7

Theft is theft…you need a cop, not a lawyer. File charges.

Also, report your Social Security card as missing. A SS card is a gold mine for an identity thief.
