Shaving bikini area without getting bumps?

I’ve always kept it trim around that area, but haven’t shaved it before. Well, I’ve started to shave down there instead. Every time I do, I get red bumps. I used to be overweight, so I never really cared before. But now I am thin enough to wear a bikini. However, now I have red bumps, so I’m still too embarrassed to wear one. Is there a way to shave without getting the bumps?

Great advice phrannie!

Walmart has a special shaving cream for black men that get shave bumps. I have used that in that area before and it is wonderful! I don’t remember the name of it but it is with the other shaving cream. Besides using that, Suave hair conditioner makes great shaving lotion. Been using it for years now.

Some tips on how to prevent razor rash:

  • Use a proper shaving cream or get an aqueous cream to shave down there.
  • Then NEVER shave in the opposite direction of the hair growth…that’ll definitely cause ingrown hairs
  • After you’ve shaved put on something with aloe vera there to sooth the area…or use woman’s deodorant…for some reason that has something in which helps for the razor rash
  • lastly if you can try and find a product called vaya smooth…it’s specifically formulated for ingrown hairs and razor rash and should take it away.

Use Secret Powder Deoderant…for whatever reason it eliminates bumps and the itchies.
