Should I tell my parents about being abused?

Hello

my name is christel. I am 22 years old. I was abused by my ex boyfriend. Did you tell your parents about it? I couldnt, it still is difficult for me to let a guy near me. Me and my boyfriend were already together when everything happend (molestation), now our relationship is totally different. How can I heal our relationship?

Answer #1

Dear christel, Yes, of course you must tell your parents. There are several reasons and one would be to get you some need counselling and support. This is a situation that you would need help getting past and getting through. Yes because you may stop another female from being abused by him. If it were to come out that he molested someone after you, you may feel the guilt that you could have prevented this. Never keep abuse secrets, they must always be told to a trusted adult or friend who can help. Sue…good luck

I say don’t even try…

Answer #3

Did you mean you want to be friends with your ex? It will take a while, if it’s possible at all.
