How come the scroll on my mouse pad wont work?

it was working fine yesterday, but today it isnt, what could be wrong?

Answer #1

Try unconnecting it and re-connecting it to your computer. Sometimes even a scroll on a mouse has it’s failure moments. =P

Answer #2

yu cnt unconnect it, its connected to the laptop, its a mouse PAD. not a mouse.

Answer #3

Is it a wireless mouse? If so, try changing the batteries.

Answer #4

Oops, mouse pad. I should have read more thoroughly.

Answer #5

Can you turn it off and on? Mine has a little button above it that will turn it off, or on. That way when you are not using it, you don’t move something by mistake.

If you are able to turn it off and on, try turning it off, and then back on…and try scrolling again.

Has anything spilled on the mouse pad lately, or fell on it?

Answer #6

Lol, okay? So I misunderstood, big deal. <–(btw, not meant to be bitchy.) Anyways, it could be the climate or the magnetic traction in it or something. But if it continues to do that, call the geek squad! lol You could also try re-starting your computer or even just shutting it down and give it a break for an hour or so. Minimum time to leave a computer shut off is like, 15 seconds… which is basically the re-start button.

Answer #7

if u mean like the scroll pad on a laptop. Mine does that just take something moist and rub it down. It does that because of dirt and finger prints or possibly anything that spilled on it.

Answer #8

open up the mouse and try to detect …..maybe u will find the problem

Answer #9

Search your laptop manufacturer website and under your laptop specifications you will find the drivers listed compatible for your operating system (eg: Windows Vista, Windows 7 etc). Once you see the drivers, look for your touchpad driver and reinstall the driver, the scroll should work after restart.

Answer #10

if the scroll on the mouse pad doesn’t work, each computer (in this case a laptop) has mouse settings… for example my laptop is a Fujitsu Lifebook A Series (64-Bit)

my mouse settings are at: Start>Control Panel>Devices and Printers>Mouse

in those settings go to the mouse scroll…there are settings that sould be set where the mousepad is locked and itdoes not work if another USB mouse is plugged in….there are many factors in the settings….to know if you have to update the driver go to: Start>Search/Run>(type in) Devise Manager…. It should tell you what components or drivers you are missing but if your problem is not hardware-wise but Software, than you can attempt to update your mouse driver
