what is the sauce/dressing that is often used in pasta salad?

It’s clear, has a bit of a sour taste, and very wet looking.’

Answer #1

We usually use a vinegar sauce or some type of vinnegrette. I assume thats the one thats normally used since it has the same sour bitter taste.

Answer #2

we use mayonaise :)

Answer #3

The variations are pretty much endless, depending on where you go…some people use a vinaigrette, others use mayonnaise, and other still use a sour cream base with added flavourings. Personally, I like to use mayonnaise with a bit of Ranch dressing added to it.

Answer #4

For Italian style pasta salads it is usually vinaigrette. One wonderful recipe I used to make used the liquid from a jar of artichoke hearts as the dressing. For the macaroni salad served at picnics it is usually mayonnaise. The one thing I can’t stand is Miracle Whip. When people use MW I won’t eat it.
