What's so different about how salons straighten hair compared to doing it at home?

When i get it straightened at the salon it looks thinner and light and when I do it at home it stays thick and heavy i have a chi straightener and i use heat protectant and leave in conditionr

They were trained to style your hair, you weren’t. They probably use different shampoos and conditioners when they wash your hair, and also different products afterwards. Probably blow dry it differently and have different styles and techniques when straightening it. Having somone else do it also gives a different perspective. Maybe next time you go, ask them?

Answer #2

Well, I agree with kianna. It was something they were trained to do. But I realized that they straightened thin strands of hair so it straightened faster and looked thinner. Maybe try that?

Answer #3

I agree with Kianna. its better to leave chemical hair treatments to the professionals

Answer #4

I dont agree with Kianna.. I dont think there is a significant difference.. I just think people just dont take care of it as well, so when they straighten their hair and its dry & brittle, they wonder why.. I personally think its possible to get the same results if you try(: they use the same supplies you use, not magic..
