Sacrifice your family and even our children???

THAT WAS THE OLD WAY IT WAS DONE.

Nowadays, there are laws against sacrificing people. That’s taboo. And besides human laws, there are new moral laws set in place by JESUS CHRIST. Hence “CHRIST”ians. And besides, even if it were a matter of sacrifice, we wouldn’t even need to because Jesus took care of that for us. He is the eternal sacrifice.

I’m not justifying old ways. Only new ones. Don’t judge Christians by their history. Don’t judge anyone by their history. Most things in our history don’t apply anymore.

I’m sorry this turned into an argument and not a discussion. Not much can be learned when yelling begins. Sorry.

Do you expect us to sacrifice livestock? Jesus took care of that, it says so in the Bible. As far as killing nonbelievers, that might have been the case in the past and it was up until Jesus came, but when he did, the standard changed and he told us to love one another. Jesus changed it, we didn’t, he did.

Why don’t so called xtians accept their loved ones instead of:

Rejecting your child when he/she leave god, deny him the love he deserve? Rejecting your child when he/she is gay? Rejecting your husband/wife and divorce them because he/she do not believe? Or reject your parents for the same reason?

And you keep going on about god this and god that. Read my post at the top of this page again, if this doesn’t make sense!

I said: Thats what you say and not your Bible, so how doesn’t that apply to your reply???

It doesn’t just not apply to ME, it doesn’t apply to ANY Christians today. No one who believes in God is expected to kill non-believers. We don’t sacrifice anymore, that was taken care of. When I say that we should be prepared to give up all we own in the name of God, it just means that we have to be secure in our faith that we’ll never be shaken if we believe God is asking us to do something.

When the Bible refers to sacrifice, it doesn’t mean people! They would sacrifice their livestock for their sins. It meant giving up something precious to show that you’re really sorry for your sins.

All of those things you brought up don’t even apply anymore. We don’t sacrifice livestock to God anymore, that’s what Jesus was for. Of course Christians don’t kill people that disagree, or people that rebel, you never hear about “the Christian radicals killing groups of non-Christians.”

The reason that stuff was put into the Bible at all was because it offers history for our faith. Those were God’s first group of followers. I’m not justifying killing, I’m just saying it doesn’t apply anymore.

The point isn’t that you should slit your family’s throat and kill and disown to show you are a true believer. You’re missing the point. The point of it is that God is our master, do what he commands, whether it be loving others or being willing to give up everything you own in this life for God.

One of the most celebrated figures in the Bible is Abraham. Why is he so great? Because he was willing to slit the throat of his own son.

What a nauseatingly disgusting set of values.

So the main thing is??? You can choose what to apply and what not???
