How do I get rid of stress induced headaches?
I’ve been getting them a lot lately, and they’ve been increasing in severity and frequency.
Try yoga, that stuf really works lol it makes u feel soooo much better and a lot less stress
reduce salt intake
Well, the obvious, of course….work on eliminating what is stressing you out. crzycalie14 has a great idea, tho. I started Yoga when I was in my 20’s, and still do it….it is a great destresser….Mellow stretching and deep breathing, as well as meditation….
Practice mindfulness. Most worries and stress comes from thinking about the past and feeling bad about the choices we made or thinking about the future and fearing what it may bring.
Mindfulness is living in the now and without thoughts. Is hard at first. What you do is use all of your senses without judging what you see, hear, feel or smell. Just sit and feel your body press against the chair, the clothes you wear against your skin, the shoes you are wearing, your breathing going in and out, do not make images in your mind of the items that you are feeling!! Is very hard to not make the images.
At the same time use your hearing and listen to everything. The tv, the cars outside, the laptop fan. No images again. If a car goes by, don’t think car, if a show is on tv in the other room and is a show you seen before don’t make images of it. With your vision try to capture every thing you see, specially with your peripheral vision. When you move your eyes move from one object to the next without judging or images in your head and so on.
All of them together. Eventually do this while shopping or driving. If you are heading to a stressful meeting, feel the air, clothes, hair, the stairs while listening to everything.
This is what Buddhist monks practice when they meditate and to control pain.
“they’ve been increasing in severity and frequency.” You may want to have a neurologist look at you. Get a MRI done, I did and they put me on topamax.
go to a spa? :S my dad always tells me to drink tons of water and pop a multivitamin. i dunno if that helps. :)
