How can I get rid of this sore throat and cough?

My little brother got me sick now my throat is swollen and i have this bad cough.See i need this gone by Saturday cause i need my voice.Iv been drinking vitamin c is that any good? What are some good meds,throat drinks,anything that u kno that works quick and fast will be lovely. Please share i thanks much!=)

Gargling with warm salt water twice a day should help. If you have an infection you may need antibiotics to get better though.

Yes it does. Another thing I should have mentioned is that post-nasal drip is a common cause of sore throats. A sinus infection or allergies can cause sore throats this way. Irrigating your sinuses with salt water should help if this is the cause and Benedryl may help dry out your sinuses.
