How do i get rid of a program on my computer permanently?

There’s this program that calls itself “Anti-Virus Protection Shield” and it keeps on saying there’s 41 infections on my computer. If I click it, it asks for money. I tried to delete it, but the file isn’t in the rubbish bin. How do I delete it?

Answer #1

this is how i do it on my comuter:

  1. go to hel and support (might be on the start menu
  2. type in “deleting” “delete” etc. and a list will come up
  3. click on one that says “ uninstal or change a program” and you could probably get it from there :)
Answer #2

You can do what she said or you can:

  1. Go to start.
  2. Click my computer.
  3. A folder should come up, on the side it should say system tasks/other places/details, look under system tasks.
  4. There should be three choices, view system information/add or remove programs/change a setting.
  5. Click Add or remove programs.
  6. A chart should come up with all of your programs, scroll through them looking for the program you want to delete.
  7. Click change/remove & i think you should get it from there.

Btwww, if you want a good program to keep your computer clean i suggest MalwareBytes & Avast. I’ve been using them both for the longest time & my computer is fine. Good luck. :D

Answer #3

do what muffin said and if that fails as in it the operating system cant remove it or it seems like it did but upon reboot its back we’ll have to take another step.. if your using 7 or vista then double click computer and at the top youll see uninstall or change a programme. click that and get it uninstalled.

but let me know if the uninstall works.

ps dont download anything else untill we’ve got rid of it.
