What can I do to help repair my lungs?

I recently quit smoking cigarettes and am in the process of getting my lungs healthy. I am already exercising and all that to help restore them a bit. Is there anything specific I can be doing to help in this recovery?

Answer #1

your body will work to purge itself of the toxins that are in all of your organs and cells, not just your lungs, with time. some people feel disappointed at being sick more after quitting than they did when smoking. basically - eat healthy, exercise and breath. other than normal exercise, start doing deep breathing exercises everyday (slowly breathing in & counting to ten). it’ll get better with time. good for you! x

Answer #2

They will get better over time, the best thing you can do is exersize and eat healthy and do breathing exersize.

Answer #3

Dont smoke any more and do what the doctor tells you.

Answer #4

If you have friends that smoke, stay away! : ) if anyone is smoking near you, avoid them at all costs. Second-hand smoking kills.
