How can you tell what region dvds your dvd player will play?

I would check the literature that came with the player. We are lucky in Australia. By law, D.V.D. players sold here have to be region-free.

most dvd players can be cracked to play any region.

whats your dvd players name and model number and ill have a look for you.

but the answer is is that yours is prob just for region 1 which is the american region code.
