Personally, I believe that the word “Redneck” is a label. In other words, something to basically “stereo type” people. The problem that may exist, is that not everyone agrees with what the term “redneck” actually means.

For some people, the word has “good feelings” attached to it. For some people, the word has “bad feelings” attached to it. And, because of that fact, I think that if you get many responses to your question about “Redneck”… most of the people that answer would probably just be expressing their own personal “feelings” about what the word means to them…but you will probably never come to a single conclusion… or final decision…on what the word really means to “everyone”.

If you use the word “rednecks” to describe your friends… then you are labeling your friends, and because the word “rednecks” means bad things to some people, and good things to other people… then you are perhaps basically telling some of the people in the world that your friends are “bad”, and other people in the world that your friends are “good”. … Let’s face it, not everyone in the world will agree with your personal definition of what “redneck” means.

I think, however, that the word “friends” may come closer to better describing what these people mean to your life personally. Probably more people will agree on a definition for the word ‘friends” than they will for the word “redneck”.

So, I’m not suggesting that you not use the word “rednecks” at all. I just think that perhaps the word “friends” may better describe what these people truly mean to you.

The words that you choose to express yourself in life will always be reflective of your intelligence. Your inquiry here has already reflected your high level of intelligence, so always be certain to choose your words wisely to allow the rest of the world to know how smart you really are.

rubbercrutches chill out, shes not labeling them, I know her personally and her friends and they call themselves rednecks. so shes not stereo typing them and besides its her friends, she can call them that if they dont care. anyways, some are alright, their like anybody else, they all have different personalitites, some you get along with and others ya dont. the thing they have that most others dont, is that they dont change just b/c one dont like them. they truely stick to their roots
