What are some reasons that I could be slowly turning into an insomniac?

every night I feel less and less motivated to go to bed. I’ll be up until 2 AM until I’ll even start thinking about bed. And when I do go to bed it’s hard for me to close my eyes and not focus on anything (Noises, days events, random thoughts, etc) so I can actually fall asleep.

If you can’t sleep because things are going round and round in your head then read a book for a short while.books always makes me fall asleep. or try to stare at something till you sleep i stare at the ceiling and also think about stuffs… Both of these will help you to fall asleep, but if they don’t help then get up and do something useful it is no use lying and waste time! take care =)

There something on your mind that just wont let you go to bed. Sometimes what I do, because I am erighting this at 401 am because I have the same problem as you, is I do something that gets me tired, that just makes my eyes tired, or my brain so when I hit the pillow just go right to bed. I either use my phone, as I am right now, or read a book or magazine or something of that kind, both that is brain and sight work and I ussualy go to sleep perty quick. Sometimes changes can also be a problem, have you changed like where you sleep and things like that? I know that for me, I have to have some kind of the same inviorment to be able to go to sleep everynight, it just makes me feel safer. Making a routine to get you tired, before you go to bed everyday also helps..

Perhaps it’s because me and my mom just recently switched rooms in our house.. Hmm, shrugs smoking a bowl helps but I dont always have the product to use on just falling asleep. Gotta make it last for daytime use when I’m feelin’ down.

personally i’ve noticed that when i stay awake late into the night then i can’t go to sleep easily at night then i wake up late in the afternoon and this becomes an annoying cycle that causes insomnia. so it could be that your going to bed really late and waking up late that’s causing a problem for you. so try sleeping early for a week or so (it’s going to be hard to sleep right away but if you want to sleep properly then you gotta try) if your under too much stress then that is a likely reason too. try taking long walks and a hot shower right before bed to de-stress and calm your nerves. don’t watch tv or use your computer right before bed cuz that sort of keeps you alert for a while in bed. also try not to eat chocolate (or anything with caffeine for that matter) for at least 4 hours before bed because caffeine is a stimulant (stimulant medications could be a cause too). that’s all i can tell you right now based on the info you gave. those are the tips i used myself to get rid of my insomnia so i really hope they’ll will help you sleep right away after going to bed!

I don’t think you are exactly turning “insomniac”. You could be having sleeping difficulties because of your clouded thoughts. Insomniacs sometimes can’t sleep for a few days. If there are things that are bothering you everytime you close your eyes, write them down in a notebook. Write solutions and ways to overcome your bother so that you know you can always go back to it and try them out. Take a long, relaxing bubble bath then heat a glass of milk and drink it in bed with some classical wordless music in the room. It could even be your hormones going through changes and disturbing your sleeping cycle. Just try to get as comfortable as you can. When I have trouble sleeping I create imaginary scenarions in my head. Like I’m on space and I’m meeting aliens or I’m in Bali on the worlds most beautiful beach. Don’t eat 2-3 hours before going to bed so that you don’t feel energetic. Don’t drink too much coffee in the day, especially an hour or so before bed. If you enjoy reading comics or novels, those will tire your eyes and make you feel sleepy. You could try a sleeping schedule. Set the time at around 1 am since you find it difficult to sleep before 2. Everyday go to bed 15 minutes earlier until your body adjusts to the change. Keeping the room at a cool temperature will also help. Make sure your pillow is not too high or low, and your mattress is in good condition, to not cause pain to your neck and back which could stop you from having a comfortable sleep.

Actually staying up late and playing video games while drinking cases of dr pepper has become pretty habitual for me now that you mention it.. I’ll try the shower though that does sound nice x:

It could possibly be stress. I can’t ever sleep, and when I do it takes awhile to fall asleep. Mainly because of stress, or because you have a lot of your mind, stuff that you probably can’t stop thinking about.
