What could be the reason for my recent bloating (more)?

My diet hasn’t really changed, but I found that I bloat really badly for the past month. I don’t even have to eat a lot to see the bloating. I know sometimes nearing/ during periods bloating occurs, but it’s been doing this for an entire month. Also I don’t eat a lot of salt, what sort of things could I do, or things to change in my diet to lessen the amount of bloating?

My boyfriend had something like that and it turned out he had some kind of stomach infection which his GP prescribed antibiotics for, so it may be helpful to talk to a doctor. Other things you could try first if you wanted would be to eliminate certain foods from your diet. Maybe start off by cutting out dairy and see if anything happens. If not, maybe try gluten. Even though you havent changed your diet, it may still be a food related thing as intolerances can actually develop later in life. I have a friend who suddenly became allergic to eggs at 18, even though she had eaten them daily for most of her life

i think your diet is the basic problem

Read “The Paleo Solution” by Robb Wolf. All Im gonna say.

Answer #4

Salt and fluid intake would be my guess. There is lots of hidden salt in processed foods we don’t tend to pay much attention to. But there could be any number of reasons when it comes to body chemistry. Best to consult with your doctor.

Just a curious question Janice, but do you have acid reflux and have a hard time digesting certain foods? I ask because my gf sort has the same problem but mixed up with other health problems as well, but she started consulting a nutritionists after her doctor referred her to him to find causes and determine a new and healthier diet for her.
