Why do my cramps hurt so bad?

Very early this morning, at 3 am, I woke up and I had cramps that hurt really bad. :( since they were bad I took two ibuprofen’s and tried to go back to sleep, but I felt like my stomach was searing with pain , and I was psyichally writhing it hurt so bad, even if I tried to relax, my body would automatically start moving from the pain, and when I went to the bathroom I threw up (not pleasant :( and they still were bad, so I ended up falling asleep with a heating pad on. Are period cramps supposed to hurt that bad that your writhing in pain? This is the first time I’ve had cramps this bad, I’m a little concerned.

I certainly agree with the other comments you should see a doctor is this severe pain persists. also if you drink caffeine a lot before and during your period the cramping intensifies. make sure you drink plenty of water and avoid caffeine as much as possible..midol is also helpful with cramps. again you should really see your dr ovarian cysts also cause severe pain while menstrating…hope you feel better soon

Every girl has painful cramps like that every once and awhile while they’re on their period, but, just to be safe you should see a doctor if its hurting you that bad, I had pains like that about a month ago. ANd theres this medicine that you take for cramps its called Pamprin, you take 2 with a full glass of water, and it should work, ask your doctor about it. Hope this helps!

the 1 reason I know of why you feel very bad cramps is when you have a S.T.D.. am not saying you do caz maybe there can be other reasons but I asked my gyn and thats what she told me at the time…( well I didnt have a S>T>D) so you can ask your doctor do some tests… and ask him/her the different reasons why you cramp sooo bad… oh and there is no medicine can stop it… ( only to fall asleep)
