real bad sunburn

ok it was stupid but I was out in the sun for two days each day for about 2 1/2 hours the first day no sun cream and I got a real bad sun burn on my back and front on my shoulders I got real bad blisters and a few on my front. but my skin is staring to peel now and I keep peeling some of it off myself and I peeled some off where a few blisters are now they are sore and weaping, I was wondering what can happen from peeling the skin and will I be ok where the blisters are and does peeling the skin myself afect the tan.

Haven’t you heard of a thing called sun damage? Sun poisoning? skin cancer? premature aging? Sun burns like this are reeeeeaaaaally bad for you. I don’t think you should be worrying about a tan at this point. Stay out of the sun as much as possible and start making sunblock a part of your daily routine before you go outside.

Peeling the skin won’t do anything, the layer that you are peeling is now dead. Try some skin healing lotion with aloe to help heal your blisters. They could cause scars. Be on the look out for any changes in your skin- any dark spots or moles that change in color or texture. See a dermatologist right away if you see anything suspicious. The sun (UVa and UVb rays) change the make up of your skin cells, which is why you need to be careful. ( Just 5 sun burns in your lifetime increases your chances of developing skin cancer by 55%!) The paler you are, the more at risk for skin cancers you are. (it’s a cruel world, I know.)
