Will my pit bull be okay?

My pit bull got bit by a baby rattle snake about 2.5 hours ago. The side of his jaw is swollen, but otherwise he seems to be fine. He is playing and breathing just fine. My husband has been laid off and taking him to the vet at this point is not an option. Will he be ok?

Answer #1

You really need to take him to the vet to get checked out. Baby rattlesnakes are still very poisonous, and just because he’s fine now doesn’t mean anything.. Most animal hospitals provide payment plans.

I agree with moe214

Answer #3

You need to get your dog to the vet or SPCA. If you can’t take care of him, don’t have the dog. Moe214 is correct.

Answer #4

Baby rattlers are just as deadly as the grown ups. You’ll very likely lose this dog…Don’t get another until you can provide decent care.

Answer #5

take him to the hospital one of my dog got bit to by a baby she was fine till two days she suffered a heart attack:( take him please.. if you love him hope I helped.

Answer #6

Give your dog away to a better home where they can actually get the treatment they deserve. Not providing vet service to an injured animal is abuse.
