A tool used to loosen or tighten nuts efficiently. It locks and turns one way and moves freely the other and makes a nifty clicking noise.

A rachet is a tool! Yes, i guess mainstream culture uses the term to describe something (usually someone) that is weird/crazy or something that is just not appealing to their culture.
