by type do you mean like DDR, and DDR2? or like how MUCH ram you need? the typical amount of ram for most pc’s on average I would have to say 2 gigs of ram usually does the trick. Kingston is the best brand I think.

your computer manufacturer will give you what ram mondules are cappable with your comp…note that some mother boards will only be able to take a certain amount of ram
