How do you get more RAM, if a laptop only comes with 3GB of RAM?
I’ve heard of some kind of stick or something, what are they called, how much are they, and could I find them at Wal-Mart or somewhere like that?
well for a computer i know you can buy stick of RAM to insert into it. For a Labtop not sure if they got things like that, maybe you can look around on a computer shop online to see if they do
Why do you need more than 3Gb of RAM on your laptop? That should be plenty for an everyday user, unless your using heavy programs in which case you should really move to a desktop, for the higher proccessor speeds. As in fact upgrading just RAm will do very little if the proccessor cannot keep up with it. Anyway to answer your question, yes you can buy extra RAM or upgrade the current RAM, just be sure that the RAM you buy is for laptops, most laptops only come with two ports and so you would need to find out how many yours has and what is currently in there. But it is possible, just as simple as unscrewing the part on the bottom with the RAM logo on it and taking out / adding new RAM in. Obviously do this whilst the machine is off.
