Question for believers?

I went to church last Sunday. And the pastor was praying. He asked anyone who would like to step forward to be prayed to come forward.I saw some people fall down.I didn’t really pay much thought to it.But my whole body was shaking.do you know that feeling when you put your hand on something that shakes fast then when you let go you get that energy in you.I felt like my knees were weak and there was something pushing me.My body temperature rose. The room was full AC and I don’t sweat easy.I didn’t fall down but my legs and teeth were all like shaking.Like someone shivering badly but it was hot instead of cold. After the service I went to the rest room and waited till I stopped shaking.

Anyways I was wondering if anyone ever experienced that? And what does that mean?

I’m sorry Captain assassin…I knew very well you were neither concerned or a believer. You are welcome to respond to any questions of mine (:-)

Answer #2

Why thank you for your concern Captain Assassin I didn’t know you were a fellow believer (:-)

I’m not concerned… just pointing out the obvious. I’m also not a fellow believer… and you’re fully aware of that, so don’t pretend to lie to yourself, its quite pathetic.

You don’t get to place restrictions on who responds to your questions.

Dear Savannah0611: Hi yeah…umm…I never fall down when the pastor prays for me.And for most of my life I didn’t get why people fell down.Like you see the pastor especially when your in a huge gathering, then he prays and the whole crowd falls down at once like unfortunately sometimes on top of me.lol.I mean I always thought hey is it my lack of faith? Is it my faith that’s making me not experience what most believers experience. But the pastor would know what somebody’s problems( like my friend’s for example) were before they told him and he’d pray long prayers for them but when it comes to me he just blesses me in Jesus name then moves on to the next.It seems like everyone’s experiencing God’s power and I’m just like standing there…okay thank you I’ll sit right back.YOU see me looking glancing at my friend like…

What were they experiencing? My friend who fell told me it felt like the ground was shaking.Like an earthquake.Ever since I was baptized at 14…the only thing that would happen to me if I am praying in church or alone in my room is my body getting shaken convulsively but extremely short ones.Man it’s hard to explain…And after that I’d feel God’s presence.I mean I know his there whether I feel God or not.But when that happens I really feel him. Like I can’t even pick up a pen to write.I’d feel like I was being thrown or moved physically. And the weirdest thing after that I’d most certainly fall asleep and anything I dream at that moment would happen.I write it down it always amuses me.It serves to strengthen my faith and other believers but I’d definitely never mention to unbelievers like my father lol…or yeah he’d probably make me wash the car.But it don’t matter you know…I ‘d believe whether I saw miracles or not.Actually in never really needed them as a requirement to believe. But just wondering if you can explain this phenomenon going on and if there’s any verses from the scriptures that you can help enlighten me with.

Thank you so much for you post(:-)Peace Babez xxx.

Thank you for that lovely sermon, marianna86.

I myself am an agnostic ‘believer’ clinging to a thread of belief. I’m not implying that your father is in danger of not believing anymore, but I fall into the ‘non church going new age’ category as well. I would never classify myself as a Christian though. I don’t believe in any organized religion. I believe anywhere I feel His presence the most is where I feel closest to God. My church is a falling snowflake, a sunset, an ocean breeze.

So, I know you wanted believers to answer your question, and I am a believer of sorts, but I don’t believe that your experience at church was anything supernatural, or of God. If you believe it was, then it was. Faith is all there really is.

Dear Hellfire,

Yes I go to church every Sunday…It usually has 4 services a day which I find convenient in case I sleep late the previous night.

I go to church for 2 reasons:

1.God commanded us to fellowship…sorry for all this christian jargon…mean he want us to gather around together and worship him. That’s what the apostles did they met almost everyday to praise God together in normal houses broke bread drank wine to remember Jesus and had normal dinners.Really just sharing your life like friends who share a common interest and goal.Very different from the church today.Well most of them.I’m not saying ALL churches.

Sometimes I don’t wanna go to church.Sometimes I wanna stay at home sleep or go to the movies.Sometimes I’m just not into that preach to me mood.Sometimes I’m so lazy I can’t even open my eyes.Sometimes I feel guilty because I did something wrong and unworthy to praise God.

But then I remember the cross…

And I think about God instead of thinking about myself. He sacrificed so much for me I’m not gonna let it go in vain.

So I suck it up and go to church.

2)I don’t go there for me you know, I do it for God.I don’t care if I don’t understand a single word the pastor says.Bored half to death. (Rarely does that happen).I don’t fall asleep though lol…not since I was 8.Are you crazy the old lady next to me’s probably gonna hit my head with her bag or something lol.Nawww joking she’s sweet.

I go to church EVERY SUNDAY no excuses.I’m gonna be there for God because he was there for me.

If I really can’t I’d still pray at home and worship him.

You can call yourself a christian without going to church. My own father’s a non going church christian. He hasn’t stepped foot in church since I was born in the waiting room.Thanking God I didn’t die.His really into anything, new age ,Buddhists,Muslim christian, tarot cards, whatever if you told him smoking weed is a way to get close to God he’d be right on it..Extremely liberal.I don’t have strict religious parents.

I go to church on my own or with my neighbors mum when I was little.

I think you can be a christian when you believe in Jesus Christ.

But I don’t think you can STAY a christian without a church.

CHURCH IS NOT A BUILDING

CHURCH=GATHERING OF BELIEVERS

The church is so important it is the only thing that will withstand time itself. It will never die.God wants us to fellowship and many people died thousand of years ago so you and I can have the right to gather.12 men spread and devoted their whole lives to preserving and spreading the news and today it has reached all around the world. So many people escaped persecution others died in it.All so we can gather and know who Jesus is.

If a believer stops going to church it’s only a matter of time when he will stop having faith. In other words it’s a suicide attempt at your own faith.

God was trying to tell you something. This has happened to me before, the night I accepted jesus into my heart. You need to pray about it., God has all the answers:)

Answer #7

Do you go to church every sunday? If so, why? Is it because you like it there, or do you feel like you HAVE to? Do you believe one can be a christian without ever going to church?

Just asking :-)

Answer #8

maybe you just weren’t comfortable in the situation, or you felt the need to step forward, but you didn’t believe you could. I’ve never experienced that situation myself, but maybe it was nerves?

Answer #9

It means you’re emotionally unstable, and get worked up easily.
