What does 'locked for review' mean?

I went to a question somebody asked and an advisor put “locked for review”. what does that mean??

Answer #1

It means the question is locked until it can be determined whether or not it’s violating any rules.

When we come across questions that we aren’t sure about, we lock them instead of deleting them, that way if the question is deemed appropriate it can simply be unlocked.

Answer #2

Not really an issue of liability for us but rather the peroson posting and or answering…which would involve us because we require a court order under california and or federal law to release member information.

So even though a subpeona isn’t a lawsuit, I’d still rather our company get one :)

And, the rules are there to make sure the site stays fun and safe, if the rules inhibit that, then we modify them to help make sure the site stays fun and safe for all who participate.

Answer #3

That it might have broken the TOU

Answer #4

Sometimes they are legal issues and may seem innocent enough to some people, but the site is held liable if certain things take place.

Answer #5

It means that it possibly could have broken the terms of service and the advisor has locked it (can’t be answered while it’s locked), temporarily to decide if it should be deleted, reopened, or left on the board locked.
