Do I have to go to church every sunday?

is not attending a mass every sunday,,(roman catholoc)decrease my faith in the Creator?

Answer #1

No, it won’t decrease your faith but you won’t be Growing in your faith which should be our desire - to be more in favor with Him, growing and realizing the benefits (blessings) He has for us - try to attend as much as you can and remember to ‘Praise’ Him daily - the Lord Jesus Christ is worthy !!

Agreed with jexter_x, & to add in my 2 cents God is everywhere, so why would you have to go to church to worship? It’s no more holy than any other building.

Answer #3

Think of it as getting “educated”…No matter what church you’re in, you can still think your own thoughts, have your own beliefs. Down the road, you can go where you want.

Is the church you’re going to uplifting, encouraging, and positive? And I’m curious, why wouldn’t you go to church every Sunday? Too much on your mind, teen angst, homework, overslept, “didn’t feel like it”, partied all night, don’t like your church, don’t like the people at your church, don’t want to be seen at church, don’t like to dress up, your “friends” don’t so why should you, you would rather play video games or go to the mall, transportation is an issue, you don’t feel connected at your church, sports game/match/meet, chores, baby-sitting? Also, are you in a small group to keep connected with church? Believe me when I say it helps a ton! I don’t go to church every Sunday, but I do make an effort to do so and I feel sad when I don’t. People say that it’s the Holy Spirit inside me that’s sad because I’m not praising the Lord. But sometimes you just feel that you need to miss church. Maybe it’s that essay that’s due tomorrow, or you have to baby-sit your little brother, or maybe you can’t get a ride? On the days you don’t go to church, you can try to pray or read a verse that applies to your personal life. If you have prayer requests, I’ll be happy to pray for you to ask God to encourage you to go to church every Sunday. — He has a plan, and it will follow through whether you believe it or not.

Well, I’m not sure if going to Mass every Sunday would decrease your faith but, I’m sure that people in your church miss when you’re not there. It’s your choice if you want to get up on Sunday to attend church. I’m sure your church wouldn’t discipline you if you didn’t attend mass. If they did, there’s something wrong with that picture. Your church shouldn’t force you to attend mass and they certainly shouldn’t force you to go every Sunday. I know for mine, they don’t force people to attend every Sunday. But, people at church do miss your presents. So, really it’s your choice. You do have the right to choose whether you want to attend church every Sunday. I personally love going to church since I have a sense of belonging and such. I don’t know how it is for the Roman Catholics or anything, but, I’m sure they feel a sense of belonging in many ways. If you choose not to attend church every Sunday, that’s your right. I love freedom to choose and freedom to make decisions. You have to make the decision whether you want to attend Mass or not. Your Catholic church can’t make that decision for you. Good luck, and I hope you’ll do what’s right. However you feel about Mass and all that. Since I’m not Catholic, I’m not real sure how strict the Roman Catholic faith is. But, whatever you do or decide, hope it’ll be for the better.

It depends on what you’re looking for. Do you want to reinforce your faith, or test it? The purpose of almost any religious service is to reinforce people’s faith in their religious beliefs. That doesn’t mean it actually works. You may find going to mass does nothing for your faith, and that your time is better spent elsewhere.

Answer #7

No. according to the christian religion they want you to go to church but if you “relationship with Jesus” is personal and listing to the precher’s views on the bible then whats the point. you can read the bible and come to your own conclusion. If I was a christian” lol” sorry, I would see church as a gathering of fellow belivers to worship and have in common.

I dont quite understand whay some say you have to go. But if you didn’t go they wouldn’t make any money

“God is everywhere, so why would you have to go to church to worship? It’s no more holy than any other building”

hey that’s a brilliant point! the church is more a symbol of christianity rather than a real “holy place” specially for people to worship God
