The entire creation story is figurative, not meant to be taken literally. And where in Genesis did it say they were white?

There weren’t first people called Adam and Eve. They probably never existed! Humans migrated to different parts of the world, and due to evolution their skin gradually changed because of the the region and latitude. Pretty obvious.

The bible IS NOT a historical document. Even the Catholic Church agrees with this statement. Jesus was Jewish meaning he looks like all the other Arabs that you see today.

Science is a part of religion. Science exists. Religion explains stories mostly within the boundaries of science, except descriptions of miracles and supernatural entities. These are metaphorical though or can be seen as such. Drop a ball… it hits the ground. Creation story - world created and science with it. Honestly, you can argue what you like but this is fact whether you like it or not. Not just christianity but Islam, Buddhism and Sikhism. FACT.

Point 2 - What did you seriously expect was to happen to make a bang… of course there were chemicals before this. Also read up on the big bang and the big crunch theories where the universe is getting closer together heading for another big bang. Science is a PART of religion, this has been proved by every major scientist and theologist. Its like saying you can have dark but cant have light. They both have to go together, as why would you call it dark without light to compare it against? If you trace Darwin’s evolutionary theory right back to the Big bang, right down to the chemical reactions that caused it, the chances of that exact reaction occuring was 1 in so many million. This makes everyone think that perhaps a godlike entity CAUSED it. Look up the first cause argument.

The creation story is extremely metaphorical. It says the world was created in 7 days. A “DAY” back in the times it was written was not considered as 24 hours, but a period of time - like when old people say “in my day, bla bla”. Its like when god said he took a part from adams side and made eve. that doesnt mean adams got a hole in his side and eve looks like adam’s old hip!

This means that when god says (if he even did, I havnt looked this up), “adam and eve are white”, he could mean white and pure, unspoilt, etc. A valid point also is that the garden of eden is a place on earth, and there is a map to get to it - somewhere in africa. One would think that adam and eve were dark skinned, like most africans. this is why they call africa the birthplace of humanity.

I very much doubt the bible placed any significant emphasis on skin colour, but remember its mostly metaphorical in genesis.

You think the Big Bang was caused by chemical reactions? Where do you get this information? In order for there to be a chemical reaction, there has to be CHEMICALS. That would mean that before the universe/matter existed, there were chemicals. Chemicals ARE matter. That’s a paradox…

The most misused words in ‘science vs. religion’ and ‘creation vs. evolution’ discussions are:

Even if that were true, it would make religion a part of science, not vice-versa.

Even if that were true, that wouldn’t imply ‘science is part of religion’. Science is a human institution devoted to understanding more about the world around us, not some natural fact of the universe.

Perhaps you should follow your own advice. There were no chemicals in the very beginning of the universe because matter was far too energetic to from atoms and interact chemically. Once it cooled enough, the first reactions were nuclear, not chemical.

Easy. The creation story isn’t what really happened. Science has disproved it in effect with the discovery of evolution theory. You see evolution is based in fact. Creation is based on superstitious belief.

Don’t count on the bible for historical information.

That’s one of the problems I have with creations or Intelligent Desine being taught in the class room. Creation or ID isn’t science and doesn’t belong in a science class. If I was a science teacher I wouldn’t teach it.
