Is it possible to get put into a mental hospital for having hallucinations?

Answer #1

Maybe, I mean it depends on what caused the hallucinations. I’ve you just dropped acid, then you’d be sent to rehab beofre you’d go to a mental hospital.

Answer #2

yes..if u start acting and responding seriously to those halucinations..u cud!!

Answer #3

What exactly do you mean by a mental hospital? Like the psychiatric ward in a hospital? Those are short term units, and they will take you there if you are a threat to yourself or others due to the hallucinations. They will usually just keep people in till they are stabilized. If the hallucinations are to the point where a person is not able to function in society, there are places that will keep people there long term.

Answer #4

Yes, but it depends on the intensity of the hallucinations… and how much it affects your life. It is normal to ‘see’ something that isn’t really there every great once in a while. Maybe if a person is stressed and tired they might have a few hallucinations till they can get back to regular health. That’s not something really serious, unless you have it like 2 or 3 months or it progresses. Now, if a person’s hallucinations are so bad that they freak out easily and it disrupts them and everyone around them, most likely.

Answer #5

If you are experiencing hallucinations you should seek medical help, they is a number of reasons this could be happening and theres a chance you are unwell, and i dont mean mentally. See your doctor, be honest. You may be sent for a brain scan or put on medication. Its highly unlikely you will be sectioned on hallucinating alone. Good luck
