What can I put on my mashed potatoes that is similar to gravy?

I like butter and sour cream haha im a vegetarian also

vegetarian gravy is lovely, i’m not sure where you buy it from but i presume most places do it, its just a bit sweeter than normal gravy

Nothing tastes better then gravy on mashed potatoes so that’d be nice if they have vegan gravy. I’ll check it out, Thanks.

I am a vegataian to and i just pick out the meat before it is cooked. It mght take awhile to find a brand that has big chuncks in it so it is easy to take out.

I love mixing it with croutons, cream cheese or shredded cheese and vegetable soup.

You pick the meat out of “what” before it’s cooked?

I make mushroom gravy. Sauté a pound or two of sliced mushrooms in a big frypan with a little butter or olive oil until nicely browned. Put a pint of mushroom or vegetable broth or boullion in a large jar with 3 Tablespoons of flour and shake to mix then use the mixture to deglaze the mushrooms in the frypan. Season ro taste; I like mine peppery so I add lots of fresh ground pepper. Cook over low heat stirring constantly until thick.

Ok … but if meat was originally in the gravy, then it’s no longer “vegetarian”.

A white or parsley sauce is wonderful with mashed potatoes.
