Puerto Rico!

Back in 6th grade, we had a debate in class about whether or not Puerto Rico should be considered an actually United State. A few days ago, my sister showed me one of the quarters and Puerto Rico has a quarter. I thought that was sooo cool. Now, I think that if they can give PR a quarter, they can finally make them a state. I know it would be kinda expensive to change the flag but still…if they can vote in the elections and use the money we use then can’t they be officially called a state? What do you guys think: should Puerto Rico be considered one the the United States of America? (I know its a protectorate but still).

…mkay. They would’nt have to change anything about them (PR). They would be considered a state. Each State has its own laws and all that kinda stuff so Puerto Rico wouldn’t be any different. Nobody has to change the way they live. I was mainly asking this question to people in the U.S. (no offense). I do get where you are coming from though and I get the part about economic issues and stuff. Thanks!

grate idea I think you should go through with that outstanding idea I would certanly vote for that if I could im only 11 but I give grate advice any ways if you go torugh with it I will tell ever person I know that can vote to vote I hope you can make it happen

look when you are talking about “a state” you are considering so many issues starting from the economic issues ending with the political ones…so its not all about flags and money…its about people and nations…culture and languages…to give an example I am here livin inthe other half of the world…and life here is WAY different than life in the us and I cant imagine my country being a part of the us…not because of money or building or any of that…because over here we have got different thoughts and ideas about life..and our culture is so different than urs…and that doesnt mean its less or sommat…its just different…so if you are talking about letting puerto rico a part of the us…you are asking the people of puerto rico to change their ideas about life and how they live…so its lil bit harder than it looks like
