What is pronation syndrome?

I just found out that one of my best friends has pronation syndrome. What is it and what does it do?

Answer #1

Its inflammation and/or irritation of a nerve through overuse and excess strain, especially though excess pronation (when the bones cross over each other, like when you rotate your arm). It usually happens in the median nerve in the forearm, and sometimes the plantar nerves in the foot. It bascially just causes pain, discomfit and loss of sensation. If it has occured in the foot it can cause problems standing. Its treated pretty easily, through exercises and anti-inflammaties. Its very important to see a doctor with these symtoms, as lack of treatment leads to prolonged pain and damage.
