Can someone help my chihuahua is pregnant due soon!! 26/3/09

Omg my chihuahua is pregnant, but the thing is the male was with her for about 2 weeks so we were sure she was gonna get pregnant, so I dont know the exact date she’s gonna give birth but I know its soon because shes really fat, its been about 8 or something she has big nipples, the babies are kicking all the time and shes pretty big for a chihuahua so im sure she’ll be fine, its her first litter blah blah I know what to do mainly if she needs help, but im just wondering if you know any signs that she will give birth because I dont know the exact date she mated with chiko (male chihuahua). So if any of you guys know some suggestions pleaseee tell me!! It could be really soon!

I would take her to the vet and have a Ultra Sound done or a x-ray, This breed is known for having to have a c-section. My female had 3 on her first litter and was fine, the second time she only had one puppy and needed a C-section. You should have a whelping area set up by now and you should be taking her temp two times a day at the same time everyday, Normal is 100.5-102.5 right before a female goes into labor her temp will drop and it may spike. she will nest and she will not settle down, you may need to place her in the whelping box and sit with her. I can help you if you want more info, just let me know, I highly recommend that x-ray or at least a vet appt. to see what the doc thinks.

Take her to the vet to determine the approximate date of birth. Good luck with the new puppies.
