My chihuahua is pregnant and I need some advice please

My Chihuahua is suppose to be due tomorrow. I was doing a lot of research online and seen all the stuff they are suppose to do and mine is not. her nipples are getting very droopy and her belly is sometimes hard and sometimes squishy. there was a day 2 days ago where she didn’t want to eat or drink anything. the vet told me if she doesn’t have them by friday to bring her up first thing. I just want to get all the info I can. Please help!

She will go when nature tells her it is time, but sometimes, they need a plqace to feel safe. Did you set up a whelping area scluded from too much noise and activity? Just keep your eye on her, keep in touch with the vet and bring her in if by Friday there are no more signs.

Good luck as you enter this not so easy realm!!

Our Chihuahau had her puppies one week ago. On Saturday she didn’t want to eat, then Sunday she seemed distressed so we put her in the whelping box in our bedroom and sat with her. At 2pm the first puppy was born and the other two were born about an hour and 15 minutes apart. It was day 60 for our dog.

Just do as your vet says…63 days is the average, but it’s not written in stone (just like with human babies)…it could go one a few days longer…The vet will check her when you take her in (if she hasn’t already whelped)…her heart rate, and blood work will say if it’s troublesome of not…

Relax…she’ll be fine (especially since it seems you care enough to involve the vet…thank you for that!)
