how can i play guitar into my computer without amp to mic.?
i want to know how to play guitar into the computer but dont want to lose quality by using the amp to mic. method. like staight into the comp? and also something like a a program to substitute for a band to make music tracks(solo person and dont wanna deal with the hassles of a band i just want to make tracks with my guitar)(electric) and i also need a good place to learn more guitar for free
If your computer has a MIC jack, it might also have a LINE IN jack. This would be the next alternative.
Using the MIC jack without something in between will most likely cause severe distortion at best because MIC inputs have very low limits.
Line In has more ability for this.
WIthout either of these — then you have to have SOMETHING that goes between the guitar and the computer.
If you dont’ have either of these, and the special converter is out of the question, then they do make USB version of the MIC/LINE-IN that are pretty cheap.
