When you're on the pill do your periods become lighter?

very true because i get more spotty and pains are worse but the period bleed is lighter

Maybe you could try a different brand or a different form of contraceptive. I am on the nuvaring myself, I know plenty of people who had negative responses from it, but for me, it was perfect!

i honestly didnt see a difference with me, but everyones different. it just became more regular like id always get it on a wednesday or thurseday

You have to talk to your gyno. I went on the pill because my periods were so heavy and painful, and it’s helped me so much! My periods are much lighter and my cramps are less intense. Several of my friends went on the pill to regulate their periods as well…

It’s different for everyone. People go around saying it makes them lighter and you get less cramps. This is not the case. You have to find the right pill for you as there are many side effects such as gaining or losing weight, gaining or losing acne, etc. etc.

It depends on what pill. A combined pill (oestragen and progesterone) does tend to lighten and regulate your periods, but like most things this can vary from person to person. A progesterone only pill (mini pill) can make you bleed quite sporadically. I have to take progesterone only pills because I get migraines, and I found at first I would just bleed randomly, but after a little while it had a similar effect to the combined pill.
