Piercing - Health Risks?!

I’ve been thinking about what piercing to choose and I’ve (finally) chosen a Labret piercing (centre bottom lip) but is there any health risks I should be aware of before I go threw with this? If so, then what? I know this seems silly, but can I be affected if I have asthma? Any information about this would be a great help because this is my first main piercing (apart from my ears) and I’d like to be prepared about what it’s like and what to expect.

As long as you have them done professionally and take care of them, there’s really not much you have to worry about at all. The problems only set in when you either 1. are a dumbas and try to pierce it yourself this causes all sorts of unpleasent things such as infections, the piercing won’t be done right or heal right, etc… or 2. you don’t take care of it how your supposed to after you get it done professionally this can cause problems like infection too*. So just get it done professionally and take care of it and you should be just fine and shouldn’t have any issues at all.

Oh and I’ve NEVER heard of a piercing affecting asthma… so I think your ok. And ignore anyone who says you can’t get a job with it because you CAN.

Haha the labret was my first one besides my ears =] But I took it out after like 6months…

Uhm no… asthma will not affect it and vice versa.

There isn’t really any health risks except the ovbious: Infections if not cleaned properly or too much, It is an oral piercing so theres a chance of receading gums, And you could be like my and chip your tooth from biting them too much…

Those are for a professional piercing, if you get it done amaturely you get the same plus more health risks…

But other then that your totally fine.

Yeah its not good for your teeth or gums which is why my mom said I couldnt get it done
