What should I do if a person is wanting me to bribe him?

I have gotten approved a product from a Private company’s head of approvals and after that the Accounts office should give me the purchase order… The accounts guy is, I think very corrupt, may be I’m wrong but it seems so… This man has negotiated a rate after a whole set of meetings, a rate which suits him. I have signed the quotation and now he is delaying the purchase order continuously. He says ‘Sir, I’ll give it to you early next week’ then, another week passed, he said, ‘Oh yes! Don’t worry I will let you know myself as soon as it happens’ then, another week, ‘he says early next week’ and when the early next week comes he says, ‘it is now in the final stages, next week confirmed’ and so on (he’s delaying). My friends say that this guy is certainly wanting me to bribe him and I should bribe him to get my Purchase Order. If I go to the head of approvals, I might get the order but he won’t be very friendly in the years to come and will keep a grudge against me (he’s in an important position) so everyone says I should bribe him because it is essential. I don’t want to, but nothing moves forward without it.

I don’t want to bribe but that guy might not do anything without a bribe. What should I do?

i don’t totally understand the situation. do you mean that you ordered something off the internet from a “private company” and the person you have been in contact in delaying the delivery of the item you bought?

can you explain more?

Answer #2

Well if your willing to give me an undisclosed, but a sufficient amount of money. I might just give you the answer to your question. . . . . And then again - I might not. . Depends on the amount of money.. So make sure it’s worth my time..

Answer #3

I don’t understand your question..

Answer #4

I don’t think you should bribe him to get your purchase order. I think you should instead express your frustration with this situation, and let him know that if you don’t have it by next week, you will contact his superior and deal with this matter in an alternative way.

I can understand that you don’t want to make this person upset with you, but if someone is giving you the run around, you have to be assertive. Otherwise, he will just continue doing this.

Answer #5

u should report him, don’t bribe or get bribed. end off answer, unless u don’t care about the community

Answer #6

If this man has a superior, you need to bring the situation there - go over his head. Whoever oversees him should be discreet enough to look into a situation without making it clear that you were the one who voiced the complaint. If, in fact, the man is guilty, he will likely be removed from his position. I think the odds are in favour of making a report.
