How are people selected to work at Area 51?

How does that process work? Just curious. Me and my dad were talking about it and didn’t know. How are people chosen (and what kinds of people are chosen) to work at Area 51, since it’s so secretive?

Answer #1

I would think that they pick the smartest students interested in biology and biodiversity. Knowing the US government, I would suspect that they follow the person that they are interested in. In a government job like this, they would make sure the person is healthy, productive, intelligent, and committed to a job of this importance.

Answer #2

But what happens if the person doesn’t want the job?

Answer #3

Then I guess just like any other job, they can refuse. Based on the US Constitution, Americans have rights to do so.

Answer #4

The government could not force an American to accept a job title. Otherwise, America would not be considered a free country.

Answer #5

Oh, well, I thought since it was so “top secret” they’d have to… Or that would be the end of them or something. Thanks for the great answers!

Answer #6

You could consider that but you have to realize that the Government wouldn’t give out information unless the citizen is willing to cooperate. The government would probably say: “You have to realize that once you are in, you can’t turn back. Are you willing to accept?” In other words, until you accept the risks and potential dangers, you wouldn’t be briefed of “top secret” information.
