Depends on how old my cat is. I usually get them as kittens and keep their litter in the laundry room in a far corner until they’re about 1 year old. Then I put it on the balcony.
We put ours in the basement, or if that is not possible in the bathroom.
My dad keeps his in the hallway in one of the corners out the way.

I don’t have a cat any more but I used to keep the litter box in the garage with a cat flap in the door so my cat could get to it.
