Do you think people should be forced to get health insurance?

Answer #1

To buy, no. To get, yes, as taxpayers participating in a publicly funded universal health insurance program.

Answer #2

If it’s free, why not? It’s only one more benfit to aid you ina difficult moment. If you have to pay, I dont see why force, some people simply don’t have the money.

Answer #3

I agree. Nobody should be without effective, state funded healthcare. Regardless of their budget.

Answer #4

It isn’t free, it will come out of working people’s paychecks in the form of taxes.

Answer #5

I do not necessarily think people should be forced to take out private health BUT.. if people who are working they should be encouraged to take out private health insurance. The government could give out incentive to have private health, that means be less tax, faster hospital admissions etc. Having said that, people who do not work or decide not to take out private health should be made to wait to have surgery as it is the taxpayers who are paying for these surgeries…Nothing in the wrong is free so why should someone work their butt off and still have to pay for their operations when someone on benefit or is unemployed can be seen for free.

Answer #6

omg, where is the edit button. Spelling and grammar errors arhhh. “wrong should be world” etc etc

Answer #7

No, health insurance (like healthcare itself) is actually a consumer good, like a car or a house; I don’t think you should force people to get it - even if everyone needs it. It’s a personal choice people have to make based on their own desires, circumstances, etc.

Answer #8

Many states already, force you to have auto insurance and nobody says boo to the fact, you have to purchase it and your cost is based on credit ratings, accidents, etc. There is no low income state subsidy for it. The healthcare issue doesn’t even begin to make sense to me by comparison. But I do agree with Hayyim.
