In my country, everyone hates Bill Kaulitz, the lead singer from “Tokio Hotel”. Same thing. Adrogynous guy, wears makeup, looks like an emo and attracts hordes of hysterical girls.

People are judgmental and dont like others that are different. He is gay, he wears makeup, he has an odd style, most people dont like these attributes because it is different and they arent accepting of others ways. Then there are people who just dont care for his music, like myself, but i dont hate him as a person. People just need to grow up and understand not everyone is going to be the same and that times are changing. People are going to love him or hate him just like people love or hate lady gaga. They either admire that they arent afraid to be themselves or hate them for being different.
