Well I am 22 and I have strong feelings for a girl who is 16. The feelings are equally returned. I have no sexual intentions. I was wondering what people thought about it. What are repercussions. I don’t fully understand the age of consent thing. It sounds wrong I know but my feelings run deep and if you knew me you would probably think I was about 17 anyways. I know I am gonna get some harsh criticism from you guys but I would like to know what I’m getting into. Thanks..

Thanks you guys. So the over all consensus is that I should go for it but be careful how I approach. I will check in with her parents about it. I really don’t need sex, I am not above masturbation. I definately don’t want to have sex with her and risk being registered as a sex offender. I don’t need to ruin my record with that. I do care about her though so I am gonna go ahead with it. You obviously care about her enough to come on her and take her age and maturity level into consideration. She is kinda young. You really do want to think about this… You’re not a pedophile, that is someone who targets young kids, or is out to take advantage of a young person’s innocence, I dont see either of those things in your case. Age of consent is 16 in Ohio, but it is for actual sex… Do her parents approve? Because that may be the first thing you want to get past…

Usually dating eventually turns sexual, so for you to say you have no sexual intentions, thats a very hard pill to swallow. What does a grown man have in common with a teen still in highschool, You are two very different stages in your lives right now, so I suggest you leave this girl to finish growing up. If your still interested in each other in a couple of years, then go for it.

im not sure, but doesnt the age of consent just state that people from different age groups are allowed to date, but not allowed to have sex?
